We are Fool’s Theory, a company from Bielsko-Biała in Poland, creators of the game Seven: The Days Long Gone and The Thaumaturge.
We are actively seeking skilled individuals to join our team to work on a project developed in cooperation with CD PROJEKT RED.

Responsibilities

  • Producing assets needed to create visual effects (textures, materials, meshes).
  • Fleshing out fx prototypes and bringing them into the expected AAA quality bars.
  • Coordinating the requirements when briefs are received.
  • Coordinating the implementation of fx to feature teams.
  • Creation and integration of particle effects for characters, environments in gameplay and in cutscenes in Unreal Engine 5 inclusive of full-featured prototypes to shippable quality assets.
  • Searching for new solutions on how to get the most out of the Unreal technology.
  • Enhancing and helping refine the VFX pipelines.
  • Maintaining high-quality and optimal standards of FX in collaboration with lighting, material and tech art team members.
  • Optimizing visual effects for performance.
  • Documenting workflow and communicating relevant information to other teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the games industry as a VFX Artist.
  • Experience with creating a wide variety of realistic game-ready visual effects.
  • Deep knowledge of the Unreal Engine, Unreal Engine 5 familiarity is a plus.
  • Very good knowledge of 3D packages (3ds Max/Maya/Blender) and fluid simulation software/plugins including Niagara, Houdini and Photoshop.
  • Good understanding of performance limitations.
  • Outstanding creativity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to create high quality visual effects consistent with the artistic vision and quality of the project.
  • Ability to independently plan your own work, search for references and present ideas to stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
  • Fluent in English.
