We are Fool’s Theory, a company from Bielsko-Biała in Poland, creators of the game Seven: The Days Long Gone and The Thaumaturge.
We are actively seeking skilled individuals to join our team to work on a project developed in cooperation with CD PROJEKT RED.
As a Living World Designer, you’ll be involved in the process of creating a Living World – an open, believable, vibrant and engaging world featuring both environmental elements and small pieces of narrative content that encourage Players to explore and respond to Player’s actions. And implementing all of the above with precision and reliability. If you have design experience and have been working in a similar position before, don’t hesitate to apply!
Responsibilities
- Designing living world activities.
- Implementing previously created designs into the engine.
- Populating the world with lootables, monsters, critters and communities.
- Ongoing iteration on implemented activities and ensuring their validity.
- Writing documentation for game mechanics and systems.
- Working with other departments: Narrative, Level Design, Gameplay.
- Cooperating with Art departments when needed.
- Following industry trends in search of new solutions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in a similar position.
- Great familiarity with one of the popular game engines on the market.
- Good communication skills and eagerness to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- The ability to receive and respond to constructive feedback.
- Imagination, creativity and the ability to transfer them into the game.
- Independence in performing assigned tasks.
- Ability to solve problems as they present themselves.
- Ability to work in a structured and organised manner.
- At least one title published.
- Fluent in English.
Nice to have:
- Previous experience as a Living/Open World Designer.
- Advanced skills in Unreal Engine 5.
- Previous experience working on an AA or AAA title.
- Experience in running RPG sessions and playing Open World games.
- Analytical approach to games.
- Good knowledge of the Witcher lore.
