Terraria has been going strong for over a decade, and it’s still one of the best games for adventure, crafting, and exploration. Is Terraria Cross platform?
Sort of. If you’re playing on iOS or Android, you’re in luck these two platforms can connect without any issues. So if you’re on an iPhone and your friend has an Android, you can jump into the same world without any extra setup.
But if you’re on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch, crossplay isn’t officially supported. Each platform runs a slightly different version of Terraria, which makes syncing them up tricky.

Can PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch Players Play Together?
Unfortunately, no. Terraria doesn’t support crossplay between different consoles yet, so if you’re on PlayStation and your friend is on Xbox or Switch, you won’t be able to play together.

- Log into your router and find the Port Forwarding section
- Set inbound and local ports to 7777 and input your IPv4 Address
- Adjust Your Firewall Settings
- Either turn off your firewall temporarily or adjust the settings to allow Terraria through
- Install the TShock Plugin
- Download and extract TShock
- Download Crossplay.dll from the Terraria Crossplay GitHub page
- Place the file into the Servers Plugin folder inside your TShock directory
- Restart your server, and you’re all set
This method isn’t official, but it’s a great option if you really want to play with friends across PC and mobile.
Why Doesn’t Terraria Have Full Crossplay?
There are a few reasons:
- Different platforms receive updates at different times, so they aren’t always running the same version of the game

- Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo have their own policies on crossplay, which adds extra complications
Is Full Crossplay Coming to Terraria?
Actually, yes! The developers at Re-Logic have confirmed that crossplay is coming in a future update.
With Update 1.4.5, console and mobile players will finally be able to play together. It’s not clear yet if PC will be included, but it’s a step in the right direction.
