Contract Character Artist/Outsourcing Supervisor

November 12, 2024

Job Description

We’re looking for a highly creative, skilled, and tenured character artist to partner closely with our outsourcing partners to provide guidance and feedback around our highly stylized, fresh, and iconic hunters for our first game – SUPERVIVE.

You’ll be collaborating closely with our Character Art team ensuring our outsourcing vendors and freelancers have proper feedback and guidance working on key components of our characters – cosmetics, skins, chromas, materials, etc.

You’ll be asked to:

  • Review assets submitted by our outsourcing partners, according to project needs and requirements. This includes (but isn’t limited to) creating paint overs, sculpt overs, written feedback, and helping with (Unreal) engine integration.
  • Collaborate with the internal art team, and our production department to ensure that the assets stay on target, from a quality, direction, and schedule point of view.
  • Help monitor, and identify potential pipeline inefficiencies, and support the internal team with solutions.

Ideally, you have:

  • Experience as a senior character artist with stylized art styles.
  • Experience giving feedback on outsourced art for games.
  • Experience with software such as Zbrush, Maya, Substance Painter, and Unreal Engine.
  • Self-reliant, organized, and hyper communicative.
  • Great sense of art quality, and being able to adapt quickly to a specific style.

Bonus points for:

  • Previous experience as a lead or supervisor.
  • Strong interest in games using top down cameras and understanding the artistic constraints linked to that environment.

We are a small team with big ambitions. We are hungry and want to win. We’re looking for people who thrive with a lot of freedom and responsibility; who wear a lot of different hats comfortably; and who are always, always acting on behalf of the player.

This position is a fixed term contract, up to 12 months depending on business needs.
