Job Description

East Side Games is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team!

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Provide coaching, feedback, and have regular one-on-one meetings with your direct and skip level reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and other engineering teams, to define and achieve collective goals.
  • Provide a clear set of goals and direction, and ensure each team member understands how their work fits into the larger studio picture.
  • Use your technical experience and expertise to provide guidance to client teams dealing with a diverse range of challenges.
  • Ensure the team adheres to high quality standards by establishing solid team practices.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years as an engineering leader in game development or multiple shipped games.
  • Wide knowledge of software development practices and and knowledge of when and how to apply them to teams.
  • Expertise adapting to various communication and work styles.
  • Demonstrated history of working well with cross-functional teams and organizations.
  • Expertise growing and mentoring teams.
  • 2+ years of management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of gaming industry trends, technologies, and design philosophies.
  • Unity experience is a strongly preferred.

Compensation Range: $140K-$160K CAD per annum. Salary is determined by experience, skills, and capabilities.
