Sons of the Forest has been one of my favorite survival horror games, offering an intense experience. But like any game, mods can take your experience it to a whole new level. After spending some time experimenting with different mods, I’ve found mods that drastically enhance the gameplay, making survival more enjoyable and sometimes even easier. Here are my top picks from Sons Of The Forest Mods:

Max Inventory Items
I enjoy exploring, but it was annoying to keep running out of supplies, especially when I was in a scary cave or deep in the bush. I frequently had to go back and grind for resources when I ran out of ammunition during a battle or didn’t have enough materials to craft tools.
This mod gives instant access to all the weapons, ammunition, and crafting supplies you require, the Max Inventory Items mod makes sure you are always ready for anything. It’s game changer, if you want to concentrate more on building and exploration than resource management, making your life easier without having to worry about running out of necessities all the time.

Let There Be Light
The darkness in Sons of the Forest is terrifying—especially in caves. I often found myself struggling to see even with a torch. The Let There Be Light mod enhances in-game lighting, making it easier to navigate at night or in dark areas without ruining the atmosphere.

Kelvin Cloner
Kelvin is one of my favorite AI companions, and having more than one of him sounded like a wild idea. With the Kelvin Cloner mod, I was able to duplicate him, effectively creating a small workforce to help build structures and gather resources. It made base-building much faster and less tedious.

Simple Zoom
This is one of those small mods that makes a huge difference. By pressing the ALT key, I can zoom in and get a closer look at distant objects. Whether I’m scouting an enemy camp or checking out a cave entrance, this mod has been super handy.

Warps
Fast travel in a game like this? Yes, please! The Warps mod allows me to set custom teleportation points, saving me from long, dangerous treks across the island. Instead of spending hours navigating through dense forests, I can instantly teleport to my chosen locations with ease.
It’s especially useful when I need to revisit key locations like my base, caves filled with essential resources, or specific quest areas without the hassle of repetitive travel. This mod has made exploration and survival more efficient, allowing me to focus on what truly matters—building, strategizing, and uncovering the island’s mysteries. Instead of thinking that i have to travel so much to get to a location.

Save Game Editor
Ever lost a companion or messed up an important decision? I did, and it was frustrating knowing there was no way to fix my mistakes without restarting the game. The Save Game Editor lets me tweak my save file, revive Kelvin or Virginia, and even adjust inventory items to recover lost resources or undo accidental choices. It’s a lifesaver for those moments when an unexpected death or a misstep ruins hours of progress. With this mod, I have the freedom to correct errors and refine my gameplay experience without the frustration of starting over from scratch.

Enable Building in Caves
Caves in Sons of the Forest are some of the most intriguing locations, but I always found it frustrating that I couldn’t set up a proper base inside them. The Enable Building in Caves mod removes this restriction, letting me construct shelters, storage, and defensive structures within caves. Now, I can create hidden underground bases and survive more safely in these eerie caves.
These mods have transformed my experience with Sons of the Forest, making the game more enjoyable and convenient. If you’re looking for quality improvements, performance boosts, or entirely new gameplay mechanics, these sons of the forest mods can suit your needs. Give them a try and see how they change your game!
